Almost Famous NQ has launched its xmas menu πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸŽ„

We’re getting closer and closer to one of my favourite seasons of the year, and that means restaurants are starting to launch their Christmas menus, which is by itself a good enough excuse to celebrate πŸ˜‰

I wrote my thoughts on Almost Famous (and Home sweet home) seasonal food when I attended their xmas showcase not too long ago (read it here) but that was a visit to their Great Northern location.

I’m happy to say that their Northern Quarter location has some exclusive dishes that youΒ definitely need to try, and I’m here to tell you all about them. Let’s begin!

Christmas menu at Almost Famous Northern Quarter

Left to right: Wipe your face, Jesus is coming. Sugar tots. Gobble gobble fries.

The food

I had the burger pictured above, which involves a double cheeseburger, buttered turkey, pigs in blankets, shoestring onions, tots, gravy, dijon, bacon jam and peppered mayo. It was as messy as it sounds but worth every bite. I loved the shoestring onions because they gave it a twist in terms of texture, and also enjoyed the buttered turkey as it gives it a more ‘festive’ taste.

Gabs had a John Candy burger, which involves a double cheeseburger, wonderdusted sausage patty, smoked cheese, jd maple bacon, shoestring onion, smoky bacon ketchup, peppered mayo and bacon jam. He really enjoyed it and, from the bite I had, I could taste a bit more smokiness and spiciness, which explains why G liked it so much.

Both worth it, it just depends on what you’re looking for (but my favourite was my pick).

The sides

When we attended the xmas showcase we missed the gobble gobble fries, so I was excited to see them on the menu this time. It’s a mix of seasoned regular and sweet potato fries topped with cheese, shredded buttered turkey, AFC gravy, bacon rain, cranberry and shoestring onions (a.k.a. everything you could ever want in life).

I loved the turkey, the bacon, the cranberry, the gravy andΒ pretty much everything that was involved in these. They wereΒ glorious and when you pay them a visit, you need to have a good serving on your table. I cannot wait to go back and have them again.

The other thing we tried was the sugar tots, which are sweet spiced tots topped with nacho cheese sauce and if that doesn’t sound delicious to you, you are wrong. These are not as big of a serving as the gobble gobble fries but still worth a try since the flavour combination is incredibly unique and delicious. I’ve never tried anything like this before!

Aaaand that was it (I mean, what more do you want?). We had an amazing time and enjoyed every single dish that we tried so I’m confident you will find something to enjoy too. Now I want to know, what kind of food are you most looking forward to try this season? I have to admit that turkey in everything does seem pretty amazing, but I’m also a fan of the gravy/cranberry sauce toppings. I’d love to know!

That’s it for me. Make sure to follow me on Instagram as we’ll be going away this weekend and I’ll be sharing some nice shots with you on my Instagram stories πŸ˜‰ I hope you like them!

Thanks for reading me,

x,

M.
