Some days ago I asked you on Instagram if you had any requests for content on my blog, and one of you said you wanted more dessert spots (and then a bunch of you agreed!) so I’m here to share my top 5 favourite spots for dessert in Manchester, and then a couple that I still want to try:
5. Just between friends
This NQ coffee spot serves some very delicious vegan brownies, a killer salted caramel millionaires shortbread, fab pastries and a nice coffee to go with it. The downside is that they close quite early (at least for our standards!) so we’ve had a couple disappointments where we wanted to have afternoon coffee and cake at 4pm and they were closed so make sure to check their closing time before planning a visit.
I’ve already praised their brownies in a previous post, but they’re so good, I’ll mention them again. They’re incredibly rich, creamy and very chocolate-y and I swear I can eat an entire tray without thinking it twice.
If you’re into nice and simple chocolate desserts, this one is for you.
Bonus: they have a vegan alternative as well 🙂

Can I get s’more cheesecake, please? 😍 – 📌 I’m trying to get back to my regular posting schedule and what a better way to do so than listing my favourite foods and moments of last month 🤔 take a look at my top picks including this glorious dessert from @19cafebar 😋 👆🏼Link’s in bio – #MichelleLovesToEat #cheesecake
3. 19 Cafe
I’ve mentioned this as one of my top spots in Manchester for various reasons, and now they’ve given me another one. I started going because of their brunch, fell in love with their winter drinks last year (and this year again!) and then this year I learned they’re doing flavoured cheesecakes every single weekend.
The one you see above is a s’mores cheesecake and it was amazing. They keep changing them every week so that’s definitely a good excuse to keep coming back 😉
Fress is another top spot in the Northern Quarter that has found its way to my heart for multiple reasons 😍their brunch is absolutely amazing and they’re always reinventing themselves (exhibit A), but the reason they made it to this list is because of their extensive list of desserts.
Their display changes on a daily basis and every offering seems to be better than the one they had before. My highlights include s’mores brownies (anyone noticing a pattern?) and their salted caramel tart.
1. Home Sweet Home
Finally, if you’ve been following my Instagram stories closely, then you’ll know that my latest obsession is Home Sweet Home’s amazing cakes.
Their slices are massive and always a perfect balance between frosting, filling and cake, and the other thing I like is that they have plenty of options for you to pick from, but they’re changing the display constantly to give you a good reason to come back.
My favourite is their cookie dough cake, but the Nutella cake comes a close second 😉
Now, for the list of places I’d like to visit soon I have Teacup kitchen, because I’ve heard good things about their cake.
I also have both Pollen and Trove, because: a. it’s always nice to have an excuse to walk around Ancoats, and b. I’ve tried savoury bakes from both places and they’ve both captivated me.
And lastly, I want to try Siop shop’s donuts. I’ve tried to get them in the past but they’re always sold out by that time in the afternoon when we’re craving a sweet treat, so we’ll have to try our luck another time.
But now I want to know, what places am I missing on my list? Is there another top sweet spot I should be trying soon? Leave me a comment with your favourite place for dessert, or that cafe you still don’t know if it’s worth a visit. I’d love to give them a go!
Thanks for reading me and make sure to come on Thursday for another yummy foodventure.
