I know I’m usually the one recommending you places but when I did my ‘top 3’ Instagram stories (check them on my highlights if you want some ideas on where to go next!) and someone asked for a Pho recommendation, I had nothing!
It turns out that not one or two but plenty of you messaged me instantly recommending I am Pho in Chinatown so, of course, I had to try it out.
Let’s begin 🙂
We started with some spring rolls and summer rolls, and I have to say the first were my favourites and G loved the latter. There’s such a wide variety for fillings and just dishes in general, I’m positive that everyone can find something to enjoy in their menu.
After a good start, we both had our mains. I had Phở Bò Đặc Biệt, and my favourite bit was the raw beef in the broth. And before you get a bit scared, it was not fully raw, just rather pink-ish and submerged in that delicious flavour, it just gets all the yumminess from the veggies and seasoning involved in making the Pho.
Gabs, on the other hand, had Bún bò huế (noodles with beef and pork), which is also a noodle soup but featuring a different kind of noodles. His pick was, as usual, spicier than mine but also very flavourful which, again, reinforces that there’s something for pretty much every taste on their menu!
One thing I have to warn you about is their portions: they’re massive so make sure you come with an empty stomach, or be prepared to leave half a bowl behind (like we did).
Overall, I’m very very pleased with this recommendation. Thank you to everyone that messaged me on Instagram and please keep sharing your favourite spots in town so I can give them a go. I’m always excited to try new places and hear about the restaurants you swear by.
Thank you for reading me and make sure to come back on Thursday for my August favourites 🙂
