Pizza for brunch? Yes, please!

Pizza for brunch? Yes, please!

Anyone else thinks that any excuse for having pizza earlier is good or is that just me? Specially if we’re talking about Proove’s pizza, that’s for sure! (If you don’t know my views on their pizza, check this first)

Well yes, Proove is now serving brunch, but it’s not just any brunch. They describe it as “Brunch with a Neapolitan twist” and they had me at that last part.

I went in without knowing what to expect, but given my previous experience with them, I knew it was going to be good!

What they did is turn those well loved dishes from their regular menu (think bruschetta, calzone and, of course, pizza!) and turned them into brunch material. Sounds great? Well, it is!

Pizza Royal: Pizza bianca with ricotta, fior di latte, finished with fresh smoked salmon, watercress, a drizzle of lemon juice and topped with a fresh free-range egg and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.

I decided to go for their Pizza Royal (after all, we visited them on the day of the Royal Wedding) and I was not disappointed. I’m all about having pizza for breakfast, but these guys delivered something that exceeded my expectations.

They turned one of those fantastic eggs royale I always love to order, into a pizza, which makes this my new favourite brunch dish.

Breakfast Calzone Carne: Fior di latte, pancetta, salsiccia, beans, topped with a fried free-range egg.

Gabs decided to order something different and went for their breakfast calzone (they have a veggie option too!). Filled with yummy meats, this bad boy is a good choice if you can leave your sausage and beans behind!

My favourite part will always be the pizza, of course, but I can definitely appreciate them involving more than just that into the menu (and also kudos for not doing just another avocado toast like everyone else does!).

I loved that they kept their essence while still bringing something that feels (and tastes) like brunch, and I give them extra points for how quick our order came out. Food was fantastic and, yet again, I can’t wait to go back for more!

Now I’d like to know about you. How did you spend your Saturday? Did you watch the royal wedding? If not, have you had pizza for brunch before? Leave me a comment or message me on social! You can find me on Instagram (@michellelovestoeat), Twitter (@mlovestoeat), and Facebook (@michellelovestoeat).

If you need more reasons to visit Proove, check my other post here. And if you’re sold, please send me your pictures on Instagram! I’d love to see what you guys get 😉

That’s it for today. I’ll be back with more yummy recommendations on Thursday so make sure to come back for that.

x,

M.
