10 Apr Coffee and pie in the Northern Quarter
Don’t you love walking around the city just to stumble upon a new place? That’s what happened to Gabs and I last Saturday when we were walking around the NQ and found Idle Hands.
Anyway, we went inside to find a cozy and minimalistic atmosphere with a nice vibe that invited us to stay indoors for a little while and enjoy a warm cup of coffee.
Gabs went for this delicious pie (pictured above), while I decided to order myself a pecan blondie (not 100% sure of the name) and they were both delicious (yes, I tried them both!). G also had a cappuccino, which he enjoyed, but I think our favourite part was definitely sitting by the window and seeing people walk by, feeling the sunshine and just being in the moment.
I feel like in this social media world, we’re always trying to connect with everyone through our mobiles, and sometimes we forget to enjoy and connect with those around us.
Being in Idle hands, for some reason, gave me a good excuse to enjoy a quick chat with Gabs and have a nice moment in the middle of our (kinda chaotic) Saturday afternoon.
We loved the place, the decor was nice (and beautiful for the instashots), and the staff was more than nice, so we will definitely be coming back. We’re only a couple of steps away!
What about you? What are those places that inspire you to disconnect for a little while and enjoy the moment? Any recommendations for an unplugged date? I’d love to hear your thoughts! You can find me on Instagram (@michellelovestoeat), Twitter (@mlovestoeat), and Facebook (@michellelovestoeat).

Thanks for the quick read, let me know if you enjoy these quick reviews/foodventures and I’ll do them more often 🙂
I’ll be back on Thursday with more.
