14 VALENTINE’S DAY FOOD DEALS IN MANCHESTER: FEBRUARY 2018

Seeing how much everyone enjoyed my top food deals in Manchester: January 2018 post, I decided to bring it back for February, but this time I’ll focus on Valentine’s Day deals, since I know that’s what most of the restaurants are promoting right now (and what most of you are probably looking for).

Whether you’re planning something special with your other half, taking out your crush on a date, having a friends night out or just treating yourself, there are lots of options in town, and I’m here to tell you about the ones that have interested me the most. Feel free to share your own recommendations and/or ideas in the comment section 🙂

Valentine's Day deals in Manchester

Albatross & Arnold

I’ve already expressed here how much I loved Albatross & Arnold last time we visited them. The place itself is really unique, and their menu definitely matches that. For Valentine’s Day they’re offering a beautiful 4 course meal including pan-fried cod with liquorice and squid ink (pictured above) and Cumbrian rump steak. The evening will begin with a Perrier-Jouët Champagne reception and awesome live music from Jazz band skylark throughout the night.

You can book now for £40 per person.

Browns Manchester

I’ve never been to Browns, but I’ve always been quite intrigued. They’re offering a three course set menu including a glass of Perrier-Jouet Champagne from £29.95. You can find the menu on their website and book a table online as well. This offer is available from Saturday 10th to Saturday 17th February so it’s great even if you don’t want to celebrate on that precise day.

Randall & Aubin

If you’re looking for something non-traditional, this might be the place for you. According to their website, they’re “more ‘furry handcuffs’ than ‘red roses’, more ‘feather tickler’ than ‘violin music’ and more ‘kinky dice’ than a ‘half-bottle of Champagne and an overpriced three-course meal of which you only like sound of the main”. So if that sounds like something you’d enjoy, give them a go! You can mix and match items from their menu, and if you pre-book (online or by phone) you’ll get a goodie bag on that day. Sounds like a plan, right?

Wood Manchester

If you want to go the traditional romantic way, Wood Manchester is offering their Tasting Menus and A La Carte for 14th February,  and you can upgrade to an exclusive Wood Valentines Treat for £10pp (and I’m definitely intrigued!). I’ve never been to Wood, but I can see it’s definitely a fine dining experience and I’m sure it’d be a night to remember!

Ibérica

If you want to know how much we love Ibérica, you should definitely read this article. They don’t have any set menus for Valentine’s Day, but you have lots of tapas and delicious dishes to choose from, and if you book your table in advance (you can do it online) you’ll receive a complimentary glass of rosé Cava on arrival, which is always a good idea 😉 Croquetas de jamon and rosé? Sign me in!

Taken from Tattu’s website

Tattu

For another incredibly unique restaurant (and menu), Tattu is offering a three course dinner to share that has been inspired by three romantic tales from Chinese folklore (I wish they’d say more!). This offer comes at a price of £50 per person and a deposit of £10 per person is required to book.

Taken from @beastromcr’s Instagram

Beastro

At a lower price (just £25pp) and in a more casual but equally delicious environment, Beastro is offering a three course menu with various yummy-looking options that promise to satisfy pretty much everyone. This looks quite promising, specially for the price!

Al Bacio

This is definitely one of our favourite Italian restaurants in Manchester, and you can read more about our experience here. Their food is exquisite, to say the least, and the attention has always been outstanding, so if you love Italian food, this is an amazing option for Valentine’s Day. All you need to do is book in advance and pre-pay £50 per couple. On that day whatever you have will be discounted from that amount. If you ask me, you should definitely try their gin cocktails, they’re fantastic!

Sakana

Another place that never lets us down in terms of food quality and attention! If you want to read about our experience, check out this article. I love the fact that they have two different options depending on your budget and how many courses you want to get, and also the fact that you get to mix and match some items from the menu. If you love pan-asian cuisine, this is a great option! You can book a table online.

Taken from @elnecot’s Instagram stories

Elnecot

This place offers a more modern and industrial venue, with an equally intriguing menu that looks incredibly promising for Valentine’s Day. They’re offering a five course £40 menu where you can pick from any of their three options for each course. They have vegan options available too, so if you’re extending veganuary or just have a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle, this is an amazing option for you! You can book emailing hello@elnecot.com.

Taken from Cottonopolis’ website

Cottonopolis

With a slogan for the night that reads “If music be the food of love then play on”, Cottonopolis is offering a three course set menu for £35 per person that maintains their special take on Asian cuisine, and they’re doing various contests on social media to give away a bottle of Perrier Jouet Champagne to accompany your Valentine’s meal. You can book this deal online or by email, so check them out!

Taken from La Viña’s website

La Viña

If you’re more of a ‘tapas’ kind of person (but want to keep it on a lower budget) La Viña is offering a set menu with authentic Spanish tapas for only £24.95 per person, and this offer will be available from the 13th through until the 15th February, which means you can either start celebrating earlier than the rest, or skip the crowds and go the day after. You can book your table on their website.

Sapporo Teppanyaki

This is the last Asian offer, I promise!

I haven’t tried this place yet, but they’re offering two different tasting menus (the premium one for £42pp and a regular one for £35pp) both served with a glass of champagne. If you’re looking for something asian but maybe don’t want to go too crazy, it’s worth checking out!

Don Giovanni

Finally, another traditional Italian restaurant that we enjoy is also doing a set menu for Valentine’s Day and, according to their newsletter “You’ll be welcomed with a glass of champagne garnished with 24-carat gold leaf, and leave with a homemade, delicious gift of beautiful truffles created in partnership with Mangrove’s Mozart chocolate liqueurs”, which sounds indulging and ideal to treat yourself and a loved one on this special day. Their menu comes at £50 per person and you can book a table online.
